"It is because ..."

She practises dancing an hour a day.  It is because she wants to win in the competition.

She practises dancing an hour a day. She practises dancing an hour a day 同 she wants to win in the competition 呢?

She practises dancing an hour a day because she wants to win in the competition.

She practises dancing an hour a day.  She wants to win in the competition.

都無 "It is because ..."

She can make people become intoxicated in rock music's world with powerful!
"She can make people become intoxiated" 直接 She can intoxicate people 唔系更清脆利落咩?

即使你將 powerful 改番做 power (powerful rock music / rock music with power) 亦都系怪怪嘅。 (There! / da-da!)

"in rock music's world" 介系詞 in 同 "She can make people become intoxicated" 系有乜關系? In rock music's world, she can make people become intoxicated.

"rock music's world" 點樣 "with power" ?

Her powerful rock music intoxicated a lot of* people.
subject + predicate (verb + ...)
唔肯定就請用 a lot of / almost ... 囉。

Give it a try!
Their fashional attire, up-dates, clothes, dyed hair and anything else that are sticking in the minds of youths and their fans.
http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/siu82english/article?mid=3902&prev=3949&next=3875]

Verbs are Troubling

I am a boy.  /  It is a dog.  /  They are students.
I was a baby.
We were babies.

e.g. She dances. / She does not dance. / Does she dance?

還有一種叫情態動詞:  must, can, may ...

I was young.  /  I am talking to John.
I do the dishes.  /  I do not do the dishes.
I have a dog.  /  I have to go now.

First the diamond had disappeared, but now the security guard was missing.  (

Past Perfect Tense loves to hang out* with Simple Past.
過去完成式愛與過去式 "" ;兩個子句以 when 、 by the time 、 because 等連接詞連成一句。

e.g.  Judy had lived in Japan, so I called her to find out more about the culture and lifestyle there.

no sooner had 主詞 A + 過去分詞 + than 主詞 B + 過去式動詞No sooner had Jerry left the house than it started to rain.

e.g.  She knelt down, listened and peeped into the house through keyhole.

I'm too SEXY for the catwalk!

go, run, walk
跳  hop, gallop, skip, bound
衝啊  dash away, rush, hurry, speed, charge, race, shoot, dart, sprint, rush
滑  glide, slide, slither
漫步  stroll, wander, cruise,
邁過  stride
逃  flee, run away, escape, fly
用腳尖  tiptoe
靜靜哋  creep, lurk, sneak

nice  /  good  /  neat*  /  wicked*  /  prime  /  fine  /  cool*
super  /  charming  /  superb  /  lovely  /  perfect  /  flawless  /  splendid  /  awesome  /  first-class  /  top-notch
brilliant  /  fabulous  /  fantastic  /  wonderful  /  amazing  /  terrific  /  excellent  /  outstanding  /  marvelous  /  beautiful  /  stupendous  /  breathtaking  /  delightful  /  blue-ribbon
extraordinary  /  remarkable  /  memorable  /  incredible  /  exceptional  /  magnificent  /  spectacular

大叫嘅  yell, scream, shout, cry out, explode, bark, roar
不滿的  protest, snap at/back, moan
回應  respond, reply
正正經經  explain, state, declare, remark, order, command, announce, comment, demand, mention
口吃  stammer, stutter
笑  laugh, chuckle, giggle

Hang out

A:  I'm meeting my friends.  Do you want to
hang out with us?
B:  Where are you guys meeting?
A:  Oh, we usually
hang out in the cafeteria.

Cop 警察 :  Are they armed (武装的) ?
Boss  :  Heavily.
Cop  :  Alright, stay cool (保持冷靜).  We'll send a team there.

Cop  :  Hey, you two are pretty cool (很冷靜).
2B  :  Yeah, we're pretty cool (好型).  Hah...

*girls

Let alone

Sex and the City 中,Samantha 是最老的 -- 獨立 (independent) 兼放盪 (promiscuous)。 (He asked for a blow job* in return.)。Samantha 回答 "I can hardly (幾乎不) blow my nose (擤鼻), let alone yours."
drug = medicine
Are you on/taking/doing drugs?

blow job (bj)

infectious = contagious
SARS is a higly contagious disease.
Patch Adams (a movie) Laughter is contagious

It seemed unlikely that she would ever be able to speak again, let alone resume her radio talk show.  [bartleby dictionary]Their ancestors had been dirt poor and never saw royalty, let alone hung around* with them.  [thefreedictionary.com]

另外 not to mention 都未提到
He's one of the kindest and most intelligent, not to mention handsome, men I know.  [cambridge dictionary]
