Having just spent
three days in your wonderful city I felt I must write to advise that
the trip was spoiled by the persistent hawking of goods by Indian and
Pakistani men. On each trip along Canton and Nathan roads and all
streets in between we were constantly bothered by these men.
It really is a
shame that our opinion of your city was tainted by such behaviour. I
felt discriminated against as they only targeted westerners. Also how
rude of them to suggest westerners only come to Hong Kong for cheap
copied goods and inexpensive tailoring.
Surely the authorities should do something about this, I suspect unlawful, method of trying to sell goods.

其實，在上海亦會有一班外省人，手拿著flyer 不停的叫「包包，手錶」( x 386 次)，而且會捉住你的手 ( 佢哋對 personal zone 毫無認識，身體接觸不是有惡意的 )。
同朋友去食飯，點菜時會問吓人：「你有冇唔食啲咩？」 "Anything you don't eat?" / "What don't you eat?" 因為西人很關注
食物敏感，所以禮儀上不可以準備一些賓客有敏感的材料或食物。比較普遍嘅有：海鮮、花生、蛋、MSG ( 味精，全名少人叫：mono-sodium
glutamate )、奶 ( 其實系入面嘅乳糖 lactose) ...... 所以你會發以 United Airline
系唔會派花生做小食，而系派蝴蝶餅 pretzel。而 MSG 可以响海草、蕃茄同冬孤搵到，所以以前啲西人成日話敏感中餐。 反過來問就系 "What do you eat?" -- 你食啲咩？ 就好似我考你，你知唔知蜻蜓食咩？Do you know what do dragonflies eat? 系問緊 general fact。但系如果要問人食咗セ： "What have you eaten?" / "What did you have for lunch?" / "What did you have yesterday dinner?" 留意時式 tense： - have ... eaten 現在完成式 present perfect 嚟表示剛剛之意。有啲似中文嘅「咗」字咁。 -
did ... have ... ? 簡單過去式 simple past。因為動作動詞 action verb 作疑問句時必須加 do
呢個輔助動詞 helping verb。咁 tense 呢？講緊嘅動作係過去嘅，所以 do 要轉做 did。咁 did 咗就唔駛 had 啦！ 咪問人「食咗乜」變成「食咩你」，好似動物片咁。

When
you turn around, you're like surrounded by water. Like Hong Kong, it's a
peninsula, a city with an economy highly depended on tourism and
(hence) people around the tourist sites are nice and friendly. There's
one exception though: the (int'l) airport. It's around 911; there's fire
in Eurotunnel. The check-in and the customs area were packed with
people like an evacuation. But you can tell it's not immediately when
you -- alien or not -- experience the uninviting 'help' from the airline
staff.
There's two jokes about SF when I was there. 1. You can tell who is SF people and who's not real quick. SF people are all gay. (homosexual couple can get married) 2. SF people walk either leaning forward or backward (all the slopes)
